Tipi Festival Wedding | House on the Brooks | West Sussex Wedding Photographer

The party before the ceremony… grab a beer, get some glitter on and get ready for the ceremony!

I arrived at the House on the Brooks for Michal and Zoe’s Tipi Festival Wedding. From the moment I chatted with Zoe and Michal, I knew their wedding was going to be EPIC! They had such wonderful, unique ideas to make their Wedding Day truly reflect them, which I believe is so so important. I headed to the house were Zoe was getting ready with her best girls. Meanwhile, Michal was in the next room drinking shots with his family who had travelled over from Slovakia to celebrate with them. The vibe was so chill! No ceremony time, no not seeing each other before the wedding and definitely no formalities. Michal wore an awesome velvet suit and Zoe looked like a mermaid in the most beautiful sequin wedding dress – from ASOS no less!

The ceremony in garden, with no seating plan and no celebrant

Over in the ceremony area, there were brightly coloured bunting, beautiful flower arrangements and colourful decorations. The more people that arrived dressed in non formal, colourful clothes the more fun it was to photograph! When Zoe was ready she walked over on her mum’s arm. As she got to the front of the ceremony area where Michal was waiting for her, the guests all huddled in around them. And did I mention that Zoe’s dad was performing their ceremony!?! Their guests drank beer, listened intently, and it was so full of emotion. As a photographer having the guests so close and having no formalities honestly made the whole thing a complete joy to capture!

Impromptu musical performances on the way to their Tipi reception

Needless to say the celebrations were so much fun. They had awesome music, drinks, minimal formal photos and so many laughs!!! Just before heading over to the Tipi everyone crowded into the barn. Their closest friends performed a song for them which was beyond cute! They had a little campsite and their Wedding Tipi In the field next to the House on the Brooks. Everyone was staying for the weekend so the day before they had all helped to decorate the tipi. They continued the theme of colour and wonderful flowers. Outside they created an awesome chill out/fun area. It had some sofas, a table football, an inflatable unicorn, a kids area and an all important help-yourselves DRINKS TENT!

Homemade Chilli for dinner

There didn’t have a  sit down meal or speeches and there were no set timings for the day. At the back of the Tipi there were some slow cookers all cooking different type of chill that both families had helped to make. This worked SOOOO well! If you are planning a totally no formalities day and don’t want a proper sit down meal, definitely take note. This was absolute genius in my opinion!

Partying in the Tipi with Pizzas + cocktails

As the sun set over the field, their very own Wedding Music Festival began with some awesome sets from The Higher Planes and Faith i Branko! Everyone got involved with the dancing including the Traditional Slovakian dancing! I literally had the best time photographing Michal and Zoe’s wedding and I cannot WAIT to photograph ALL the other Festival Tipi Weddings in the future!!!

“You were absolutely wonderful from the very beginning. The perfect process and friendly lovely communication answering every question!  Your style on the day was an absolute dream, you blended in and made everyone feel at ease in front of your camera. And my oh my. The pictures. They’re absolutely stunning! We couldn’t be happier, Thank you again a million times for creating a lifetime of memories.”
