Well, As the first real step towards focusing on my photography I decided to get booked on a course at The Trained Eye in Amersham. I have been looking at their courses since I first got in to portraiture but what with going to Japan I had never really thought seriously about doing one. I saw that there was a space at the 2 day wedding workshop and I decided to get myself on it! It was AMAZING! there are no other words! I came away sooooo exhausted and completely FULL to the brim with new info to take on board for every single side of my photography! Honestly, I learnt so much (prob. more than I’ve ever really learnt in 2 day EVER, hehe)!
On the first day we met David McNeil who talked about his style and how to find your own style – I absolutely LOVE his style, it’s so quirky and bright and he has an amazing eye for lines! Very inspirational! Then we met Jodie Chapman, her style is alot more traditional and so so beautifully stunning! Her eye for detail is incredible! She talked us through every step of shooting a wedding from being in contact with the bride and groom to be right through to the end of the wedding day. It was amazingly detailed and I took 12 pages of notes!!!! In the afternoon we went on a shoot at Bisham Abbey, We got to shoot one couple and one bride. It was great! But man, I wish we could of spent more time taking photos, I would have loved to spend another hour shooting with David and Jodie It was really awesome to be to ask them for advice, help and watch them work!
On the second day we met David Morgan – well, what can I say… what an inspirational guy!!! He was so down to earth and easy to talk to and FULL of information (and yeah his photography is incredible)!!! He talked us through all the business side of setting up and running a wedding photography business and touched on some post processing gold! Again… I took a LOT of notes!
Well all in all I had an amazing 2 days… and I’m thinking of getting myself on their Academy course starting next February… these are very VERY exciting times!
Here are my photos from the shoot we did on the first day and edited with my new found knowledge in adobe lightroom and photoshop… I’ve had so much fun editing these photos! Can’t wait to get out shooting some couples and doing some weddings (^_^)
